Okotoks to Longview
2009
The
size of this house was 40' x 43' and 27' high.
As
you can see, Fortis Alberta is lifting the wires, so that we are
able to go under the power lines.

Markerville Lutheran
Church 2009
This
old Church, dated 1907, was built on a Sandstone foundation. It
had to be raised and moved and put onto it's new foundation.
The Markerville Lutheran Church is
a one-storey building with a front-facing gable roof and tall bell
tower with flared pyramidal roof and front entrance at the base.

Nelson Homes- 2008
These are a view of the "Ready To Move" Houses that we move for
most Nelson Homes Customers.
They
vary in shapes and sizes.

Red Deer Lake- 2007
This
House Raise required 13 hydraulic jacks and 2 Jacking machines to
lift. New 120' beams had to be made by bolting together two other
beams.
The
House was 3300 Sq.Ft. and weighed 150 Tons. It required 3 truck
loads of blocks to construct the piers to hold the building up. |

This
House was built in a V-shape and had to be cut into two pieces to
be moved.

Portable Classrooms-
Calgary 2006
44 New Portable
Classrooms were moved to five different schools within Calgary.
The units were moved over a period of seven months. Each unit was
25' x 50'. |

Calgary
to East of Calgary 2006
This House had to
be cut into three pieces to be moved. The main part of the house
was 34' x 78'. The addition was 16' x 24' and the garage was
12' x 24'. The original house was built on a 1' crawl space making
it more difficult and time consuming to do the initial raise.

to Strathmore - 2006
This Sales Center was too large to be moved in one piece
so it had to be cut down the middle and hauled on two trucks.

Milo
to High River, Alberta - 2005
This historical barn was moved into the Shepard Family Park in
High River. The park has several historic buildings and
plans to use this one for public functions. The barn
loaded at 32 feet high and we had to get several power companies
involved to lift wires.

Priddis,
Alberta - 2004
36' x 50' Log House. It was moved across a field to become
a guest house on the owners property. It was moved with a
field stone fireplace which added to the total weight of the
building, bringing it to a total of 96 tons.

Olds,
Alberta - 2003
This historical house was moved to the Sundre area. It was
33 1/2 feet high when it was loaded. McCann's Building
Movers won the award for the "Tallest Structure Moved Under
$30,000.00" at the 2004 IASM conference.

Railway
Station - 1999
This building (30' x 70' x
30' high) was moved from Gleichen to Cochrane and was a
logistical challenge having to co-ordinate power, line lifting,
railway crossings (CN and CP) and numerous local authorities
|

This brand new house had to be moved a few blocks because of a
river bank that was giving way behind the house. This move
was completed with no interior cracking.
